Bangkok Shopping Places for shopping lovers

Tourists who are shopping lovers or shopaholics, especially women, love Bangkok just for shopping.

When they asked for my suggestions about the best shopping places in Bangkok, I could not give them a specific place because it depends on their budgets, personal lifestyles and what they wanted to buy. Otherwise they wouldn’t be happy if they got the answer that does not suit them well.

However, if you are one of these shopping lovers, you would want something helpful because receiving nothing after asking could also frustrate you. In this case, I think I need to recommend a few great shopping places for you to shop around this capital city of Thailand.

With hot weather in Bangkok, staying in a cool air-conditioned department store would be a great choice but which department store? From many shopping places in Bangkok, I recommend the zone of three big shopping malls in heart of Bangkok; MBK Center (Mah Boon Krong Center), Siam Paragon and Central World. Although these three shopping malls are in the same area – Phatum Wan District, they target different group of customers by different products. BTS Sky Train would be a great choice for you to visit these malls since it close by the stations in the area.

        The first one, MBK Center is one of oldest famous shopping complexes in the area. You can find over 2,000 shops selling a great variety of products. Products for both ladies and men are provided from head to toe such as, hats, scarfs, clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories, cosmetics and also products for travelers like, suitcases, leather products, souvenirs, dried food, dried fruits, jewelry and gold. In addition, on the fourth floor, there is a big market for IT products, Mobile technology, new phones, used and phone accessories. Because most shops here offers considerably inexpensive price, I think it is a trap for any small-money shoppers, who won’t mind no-name products. Here is the first stop where you should come to check the standard price of goods before going around Bangkok.

      However, low-cost and bargain products could affect their qualities and materials used. Products sold in MBK Center are mostly no return or refund, so please check price and product qualities carefully before buy it!

The Second one, Siam Paragon – connecting directly to the interchange of BTS Siam Station, is the newest and also most luxury shopping mall in the area. If you are crazy about brands, you can find them here – Hermes, Louis Vitton, Prada, Versace, Gucci, Efsan Loran and even world attractive car brands like Lamborghini, Porsche and Ferrari. Siam Paragon will blow your mind away. Additionally, if you are a book worm like me, enjoying checking at bookshelf more than walking through the aisle of clothes racks, you can try visiting two large international book stores – Kinokuniya and Asia Book, where you can find interesting books in English, Japanese and Thai.

Last but not least, I would like to present Central World. After a recent renovation, Central World not only is a large shopping mall, but also is the most remarkable place for festival season as New Year Count Down. In this mall, there are both boutique shops and premium products provided for any class of people. Check it out!
