Thong Pha Phum National Park is a natural area taken care by government officers, where in the area of this national park there are several attractions situated, such as Noen Chang Suek and Pilok Mine. Tourists who visit this national park will be able to see how beautiful of mountain range in western Thailand. Accommodation here is also available, so those who would like to stay very close to natural area will be satisfied. As its name indicates, this national park is located in Thong Pha Phum district.
Thong Pha Phum National Park covers an area of about 386,000 acres. The area is on the west of district city, next to Vachiralongkorn Dam. This area is next to western border and it is requested as a national park in Thailand for an excellent ecosystem for plants and living area of wild lives. This area was officially announced as Thong Pha Phum National Park, on 23th December 2009. It is 114th national Park in Thailand.
When the area of this national park connecting to areas nearby, they becomes very large forest because all sides of the area connected to preserved forests as follows:
- On the north, the area is connected to Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary
- On the south, the area is connected to mountain range and forest of Sai Yok National Park
- On the east, the area is connected to Khao Laem National Park
- On the west, the area is connected to Tra Now Sri mountain range, which is also connect to Myanmar
To visit Thong Pha Phum National Park, visitors need to take a Bus from Mochit 2, Bangkok, depart from 5 AM, because after get off the bus at Thong Pha Phum district, visitors have to take a yellow Baht Bus (Songthaew) at Thong Pha Phum market on 10.30 AM (not sure for the other time available). It will take about 2 hours to the national park.
