Nern Chang Suek is one of interesting places in Kanchanaburi because it is the view spot on the mountain, Thiland-Burma border. Stunning panoramic view attracts a lot of visitors to come here, and in the winter, it becomes even more interesting due to a chance of seeing sea of cloud mingling with mountainous waves bathing in morning sun ray. Nern Chang Suek is not far from Pilok Minning at Thong Pha Phum district.
Nern Chang Suek is operating base of border police. This base is situated on Thai-Burmese border line, about 1,053 meters high from sea level. In this base, there are officer's house, helicopter deck, and spot to see view from both Thai and Burmese side. Visitors will see E-Tong village for view on Thai side and mountain range and forest for the view on Burmese side.
Adventure tourists usually come here for camping with their tent during November – January, because it is a good time to gazing at sea of cloud in the morning. To stay over a night at this place is a great opportunity for visitors to feel cold temperature, to view beautiful sunset and also sunrise, and to stare at groups of stars on the night sky. In short, it can be a great place for relaxation and chill around. Note that, visitors can place their tent on either the field area or on the helicopter deck. There are a toilet and an area to park a car available, but no shop, restaurants and other facilities.
To visit Thong Pha Phum National Park, visitors need to take a Bus from Mochit 2, Bangkok, depart from 5 AM, because after get off the bus at Thong Pha Phum district, visitors have to take a yellow Baht Bus (Songthaew) at Thong Pha Phum market on 10.30 AM (not sure for the other time available). It will take about 2 hours to the national park. By the way, to visit Thong Pha Phum National park with package tour may be available.
To visit Nern Chang Suek, there is no public transport to reach this place. So visitor would have to rent a car or visit this place as a tour group. It is situated in the deepest area of Thong Pha Phum district, about 10 kilometers from Thong Pha Phum National Park.
