Ko Sichang (Sichang Island)

Ko Sichang (Koh Sichang) is an island situated in the Gulf of Thailand. This island is one of important historical island because it is a major vacationing place for three former kings of Thailand, King Rama IV, King Rama V, and King Rama VI. One of main reasons to vacation Ko Sichang is due to clean and fresh air from natural environment. During this timeline, there is steadily development on this island. Unfortunately, in 1893 the island was occupied by French, which forced royal residence abandoning Ko Sichang.

Although Ko Sichang is not a great place for beach fans as Koh Larn and Koh Samed (Rayong), a number of tourists come to this island for enjoying natural places and building architectures. Additionally, in recent years, Ko Sichang becomes more and more popular, because Ko Sichang has been promoted via Thai TV series. Resorts and sea view displayed in such series attract tons of visitors to look if this island is as beautiful as they have seen or not.

On a ferry, during the transferring time, visitors are able to see many freighters on the sea. This is because there is Laem Chabang Port near Sriracha City. This can be seen as one of interesting things. Upon arrival in the island, as Ko Sichang is a district in Chonburi province, you will also see that there are many shops and facilities available, including 24 hour convenient stores, ATM, Hospital, and so on.

Koh Sichang Port

When arriving to Koh Sichang, in general visitors will arrive at Lang Port. There are a lot of transportation services here, so you can rent a motorcycle, take a skylap taxi or motorcycle taxi. The price for taxi is quite cheap. Not Far from the port there is also a 24 hour convenient store (Seven Eleven) and ATM.

Father Spirit of Great Hill

Chao Pho Khao Yai or Father Spirit of this great hill was respected by a number of visitors, especially Thai and Asian visitors. There is also a Buddha's footprint on the top of the hill, but it requires a little stamina to climb up a stairway for 263 meters. On the top, there is a beautiful view of the island as well.

Yellow Buddha Temple and Chakkrapong Cave is a sacred place on the island where there is the largest buddha image in Yellow color located. The area nearby there is also a reclining buddha in the cave, which is another place to respact the buddha image on the island.

Chong Khao Kard

Chong Khao Kard is a great point of view to see beautiful sunset, because there is a walkway established for this purpose. There are also circle-shape rocks making this place more interesting. It is a popular place to go fishing as well. This place can be seen as a great relaxing area of the island, especially in the evening.

Judhahut Palace

King Chulalongkorn’s Palace (Judhahut Palace) is a main attraction on Ko Sichang. Although the main building has been moved to Bangkok after French violated this island, there are still several remaining buildings and architectures to see. It would take you a few hours to look around all of structures here.

Taam Pang Beach

Taam Pang Beach is the only one real beach on Ko Sichang. Those who would like to enjoy swimming will have to come here. There are water activities, beach chairs, restaurants, and a few accommodations to support visitors. Besides, this place is another place to the sunset view.
