Sky view tower is an interesting place to visit in Rayong as visitors can see panoramic view of Rayong river and mangrove forest at the top of the tower. Not only the tower itself is interesting here, but the walkway is also fascinating with a plenty of mangroves, where the great natural atmosphere and an opportunity of exploring mangrove ecology are provided. It's really worth visiting and no fee of charge at its entrance at all.
Sky view tower is established with collaboration between Rayong Municipal, Rayong River and Mangrove Preservation Association, and IRPC Public Limited Company. It was built for celebrating 84 years old of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, King Rama IX. Other objectives are to make this area as mangrove ecology research center. This can help students, locals, and visitors have a great place to learn and see how mangrove animals living in this area. Another good point is that it can be a place for relaxation with beautiful natural scene near the city. Its official opening was 28 November 2012.
There is a wooden walkway from the entrance to the sky tower, approximately 400-meters long and 1 meter width. On both side of this walkway are covered with various types of mangrove trees, where there are unfortunately signs and detail boards about each type of the trees in Thai language. If visitors try to look at the ground closely, they would be able to see crabs running around. All of these trees are certainly help to make good ecosystem.
When walking to almost the end of the walkway, visitors will see the sky view tower solely standing next to the river. This tower is built in triangle shape, approximately 8-meters width and 22-meters height. There are 11 levels with spiral stair from the ground to the top most level. A great chance to see panoramic view of mangroves, river, houses and sea is waiting for those who visit up there.
Sky view tower is located at Pak Nam Suburb, not far from the downtown, only less than 10 minutes by car. Its location is also near Saeng Chan Beach and Phra Chedi Klangnam.
