JEATH War Museum is an attraction located next to Wat Chaichumpol Chanasongkram (Wat Tai), Kanchanaburi city. It is not a large museum and it presents the story of difficult living of war prisons who was forced to build the Dealth Railway.
JEATH is the abbreviation for the first letters of countries that participated in building the Death Railway – J (Japan), E (England), A (Australia), T (Thailand), H (Holland). The purpose of create this name is for commemorate to several thousand war prisons who have troubles or died for working on Death Railway during the World War II.
This museum is U-shape building with 1 entrance and 1 exit door. This type of walkway is just for making visitors to feel like walking through detention center at that time. The museum also presents photos, portrait, and content about how war prisons lived. There is another building presenting tools and weapons used by Japanese Army, such as sword, guns, bombs, and various types of containers.
JEATH Museum opens from 08.00 – 18.00.
The entrance fee is 30 Baht.
